Try to imagine how many of them are journalists who randomly utilized the social medium as silent readers and to pursue story ideas? On the other hand, journalists and news publishers have long sought the excellent ways to generate involvement on Twitter and mostly make the every Tweet. Based on the rich research by the Platform and Analytics teams, they have created a series of perfect practices for journalists and newsrooms that can enhance you in the numbers of your followers as well as the involvement on Twitter. The team analyzed thousands of Tweets for more than 150 news brands and individual journalists throughout the world.
Specifically, they determining four certain areas of focus,
"Tweet your beat, use # hashtags for context, @ cite your sources, as well as share what you're reading."
Based on their research, there are a few ways journalists and news publishers may increase followers numbers and Twitter engagement.
- Write content related to the beat on Twitter; live-tweet
- Frequently use of hashtags for content and @cite the sources
- Share what you're seeing with your Twitter followers
- make full use of the Retweet button to curate
Based on my point of view, both Journalism and Twitter are highly interrelated as Twitter is a source where Journalism found their news. Journalists can write more news and attract more audience to their work in a fast pace. On the contrary, for twitter users, they will also find themselves miss a lot of news when they did not log into twitter. It is very important to stand in the shoes of editors, ask them about their point of view on Twitter impact on headlines, the ongoing topics or publishing problems around the news. At the meanwhile, the audience and sources are changing some old news basis as well.
